Everyone knows that the best time to learn a new language is during childhood - preferably as early as possible. Grammar is a set of rules that describe how a language evolves through time. Each language has its own set of rules. Grammar rules specify the kind of terms that can be used and how they should be used in a sentence. 

Grammar establishes the ground rules for proper speaking and writing. Although understanding how to read is significant, knowing how to communicate is much more important. Grammar teaches students how to write and speak the language correctly. The grammar contains guidelines on how to correctly utilise the terminology. Some of the most difficult grammatical rules are learned around the age of three, while others may take up to six years to grasp.  

We all know how imperative grammar is for kids. Let’s go through some simple methods which will help to teach English grammar to children. 

 01.Create a routine 

Make a timetable for your kids’ English study at home. 15 minutes is plenty of time for small children. You can gradually expand the sessions as your children become older and their attention span increases. Keep the activities short and varied to keep your child's attention. Make an attempt to accomplish some activities every day at the same time. When kids know what's going to happen, they feel more at ease and confident. Try to play an English game after class or read an English story to your children before bed. 

  02. It’s story time! 

Children's books with bright colours and enticing illustrations are especially popular with younger children. Look at the photographs together and say the words as you point to them. Ask your child to point to various objects, such as "Where is the book?" After a while, make them say the words by asking, "What is she eating?" By listening to stories, your child will get used to the sounds and melodies of English. The cartoon stories are a terrific way for kids to practise their reading and listening skills. Older children can use the free tasks to assess their understanding. 

03.Let’s sing! 

Songs are great for teaching or reviewing a grammar point. Songs paves a good way to learn new words and improve your kid’s pronunciation. Songs with actions are very good for young children since they can participate even if they cannot sing the tune. The actions frequently illustrate the importance of the lyrics of the song. Children are unlikely to grasp the entire meaning of the song but giving a brief summary or including the translation would be beneficial. When using songs, Prepare a worksheet for your children. So that your children can fill in certain words. Take a particular song and remove the present perfect verbs altogether and ask your children to fill in the blanks with the appropriate words. If this is too challenging, including the present tense of each verb will help kids immensely. 

04.Flash Cards 

Flash cards are a simple, versatile, yet often ignored resource. flash cards are an ideal way of stimulating your children and making them interested in grammar in an engaging way.  There are many benefits to using flashcards for your children. you can use them to elicit, practice, or review grammar structures. Use them as a warm-up, filler, or review for a related lesson. You can even use them as a grammar lesson unto themselves. Flash cards can be used in conjunction with word cards. These are simply cards that display the written word. Word cards should be introduced well after the pictorial cards so as not to interfere with correct pronunciation. Flash cards are a really handy resource to have and can be used in many ways. 

05.Dictionary corner 

Learning to use a dictionary is a vital part of mastering grammar. Build familiarity with the dictionary by playing games with it. Write down a mixture of correctly and wrongly spelled words and get them to find the right spelling, or challenge an older child by calling out unfamiliar words and timing how long it takes him to find the definition.  Ask your child to think of a phrase. Assign a number to each letter in the phrase and write out the phrase in numbers. These will be page numbers in the dictionary. Ask the kid to find a word on each of the pages and write them down in order.
